Trade between South Africa and Denmark

The export from Denmark to South Africa has increased the last few years and is expected to increase further until 2020, as seen on figure 1. The South African market just made it to the top 40 list of Denmark’s most important export markets as many of the Danish competencies and technology match the South African needs.

The total export from Denmark to South Africa increased with 16.2 pct. from 2016 to 2017. The reason was primarily due to service exports that increased with 21.6 pct. from 2016 to 2017 but also export of goods increased, with 7.6 pct.

The exports to South Africa are primarily machines and transportation, being around 45 % of the exports. The rest of the exports constitutes of foodstuff, raw materials, processed goods and finished products.
