18th International Anti-Corruption Conference IACC

The 18th edition of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 22-24 October 2018.

The 18th IACC is hosted by the Government of Denmark, represented by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and organised with the support of Transparency International Denmark. Transparency International is the secretariat to the IACC Council.

Denmark performed best in the past five years on the Corruption Perceptions Index and was one of the first countries to announce a public beneficial ownership registry, which is a vital tool for ending corporate secrecy and preventing grand corruption.

“The IACC in Denmark will be a landmark Conference because of the unique opportunity to share experience in a country that has put in place a robust anti-corruption system. We have frequently affirmed the devastating nature of corruption when it is systemic, in the way it affects the living conditions of the citizenry of any country with even wider ramifications in developing countries” said Akere Muna, Chair of the IACC Council

The International Anti-Corruption Conference, first held in 1983, has evolved into the leading global forum on governance and anti-corruption. It brings together leaders from the public and private sectors, civil society, international organisations, academics and the media to discuss the increasingly sophisticated challenges posed by corruption.

The theme for this year’s event is Together for Development, Peace, and Security: Now is the Time to Act.
